  • Project Brief: Create an animated video that promotes Clash Royale through a character-driven revenge story, dramatic pacing, and the game’s distinctive visual style.

An animation video for a mobile game can settle for dropping the logo over gameplay footage. Clash Royale's "30 Seconds for Revenge" from DAVID NY goes further, turning a throwaway Skeleton Army unit into an underdog hero named Larry with a full revenge arc.

The look sells it, rendering the game's cartoon roster in cinematic anime with dramatic low angles and stormy purple skies. A caped Mega Knight glowers behind a red-eyed visor while tiny Larry raises a sword, so the scale gap does the emotional work before a line lands.

The direction plays the joke straight, giving a disposable skeleton close-ups, glowing-eye rage, and a "For my beloved crown!!" battle cry. That contrast between epic framing and a one-elixir throwaway character is the whole gag, and it holds for the full 45 seconds.

Where it narrows is reach past the fanbase. It rewards players who know Larry is cannon fodder, though a newcomer sees a polished anime short and misses that the comedy runs on how worthless the hero is in the actual game.

Glowing skeleton face shouting for a crown.
