- Project Brief: Create a high-energy campaign that captures the excitement and emotional anticipation surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026.
A short film anchored to a sporting event works when the emotion feels too big for the person containing it. "Bubbling Up" gets that right immediately: a fan's pre-tournament excitement takes over a crowded elevator before she can stop it, and the whole film follows that single loss of control.
WPP Open X builds the pacing around a reworked "Jump" featuring J Balvin, Amber Mark, Steve Vai and Travis Barker. The edit does not just sync to the track; it lets the music physically move the people on screen, which is why the anthem feels like a cause rather than a soundtrack.
The elevator and subway car do more visual work than a stadium would. Tight, crowded frames make the excitement feel like it has nowhere to go, which is exactly why it spills out.
The Coca-Cola bottle appears throughout as a prop rather than a product shot, held by fans mid-celebration rather than displayed for the camera. That one decision is what separates a well-designed food and beverage commercial from one that just interrupts the film to show you a label.
