- Project Brief: Design a bilingual e-commerce website for a paletas and Mexican ice cream brand, created through the PepsiCo Juntos Crecemos program, that celebrates the brand's Latino heritage.
Mexican paletas sell on color first, and the best food and beverage websites put that color on screen before a single word. Alpha Co. Marketing and Media gave La Newyorkina a site in hot pink, marigold, and warm cream, with ordering one click from every page.
La Newyorkina is chef Fany Gerson's paletas and Mexican ice cream brand, based on Commerce Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The site came out of the PepsiCo Juntos Crecemos program, which supports Latino-owned businesses.
A hot pink bar opens the page with the shop address and social links. Below it sits a hand-drawn badge logo of a woman holding a paleta, framed by flowers.
The hero runs a 10-slide carousel of full-bleed photos, from ice cream pints to the team at work. A bold stencil headline and an Order Here link point you to New York pickup and delivery.
Next, four photo tiles cover About, Wholesale, Order Online, and Catering. Each one sets a cream circle, ringed in pink, over shots of churros, paletas, and gift boxes.
Shopping stays simple. A marigold pickup and delivery button anchors the header, and a Goldbelly Store link handles orders from outside New York.
Culture shows up in the details too. Seasonal pop-ups promote treats like Pan de Muerto, and an Instagram grid shows kids, customers, and the kitchen crew.
The page closes on a pink footer over a pattern of tiny paletas and ice cream cups. Press, contact, and email signup links sit in easy reach.
Results & Impact
La Newyorkina now has a site that feels as playful as its paletas and still sells like a modern shop. You can read the story, order pickup, or ship treats nationwide within a few clicks.
