Team Behind the Design
Web Design Analysis
Penumbra, a cross-chain network focused on secure and private transactions, needed a new marketing website that could unify its ecosystem under one visual and technical framework.
Working closely with Penumbra’s internal team, JetStyle redefined what a professional tech website design can look like — a fast, elegant, and privacy-driven experience that translates cryptography into visual storytelling.
- Celestial Gradient as Privacy Metaphor: The design uses an eclipse-like gradient shifting from amber to cyan over deep black. This transition captures the idea of light meeting shadow, mirroring the brand’s name, Penumbra. It becomes a subtle metaphor for privacy, showing what’s seen and what stays hidden.
- Glitch and Blur Effects: The pixel motif and blur hover effect give the site a clear identity and are a statement about privacy. I love the idea that what matters remains visible while the rest fades away. It's poetic, purposeful, and perfect for a blockchain brand.
- Dark Space-Themed Interface: The dark palette creates depth and calm, making each element feel illuminated from within. White text and amber accents keep it readable without losing mood.
- Bold Typographic System: The geometric sans-serif in uppercase feels confident and precise. Every line aligns neatly, giving the layout structure and rhythm. It supports the message instead of competing with it, which I really appreciate.
Impact and Recognition

The Penumbra redesign resonated strongly with its online community, sparking immediate reactions across social channels after launch. Real users praised the site’s clarity, performance, and visual sophistication.
On Twitter, responses highlighted how the design captured attention while reflecting Penumbra’s privacy-first ethos:
- “Clean, sleek, and built for privacy.” — @stakeingermany
- “Fresh af.” — @Rob_AL_Ghul
- “I like the clean look.” — @heartonchain

What Agencies Can Learn from Penumbra
This project demonstrates how advanced concepts can be visualized through disciplined design thinking.
1. Turn Abstract Ideas into Tangible Visuals
JetStyle proves that even complex notions like cryptographic privacy can be expressed through simple visual metaphors such as blur, gradient, and contrast. Agencies can look for ways to translate what a brand does into a matching look.
2. Design with Restraint
Motion, light, and interaction can be subtle and stand out at the same time. Strategic minimalism, when grounded in concept, can make a stronger emotional impression.
3. Make Scalability Part of the Concept
A modular design system not only supports future content but also mirrors the product’s structure. Designing for expansion is as important as designing for launch.
