- Project Brief: Design a sports website that showcases Podium Global’s cinematic storytelling, creative production work, and performance-focused brand identity.
A sports website makes its case the moment the homepage loads. Podium Global's site, built in collaboration with Montréal-based San Rita, opens on a fluid blob-shaped mask of a runner in motion — video footage visible through an organic, almost liquid silhouette against a clean white background.
The homepage transitions to pitch black as the work section loads, a deliberate shift that makes the cinematic footage hit harder. Overlapping stills from campaigns for Puma, Salomon, Auclair and Ciele sit at irregular angles across the dark canvas, suggesting a director's edit suite rather than a standard portfolio grid.
The work section toggles between a visual grid and a list view, giving visitors two ways to browse without complicating the navigation. Three links — Work, About, Contact — handle everything else, and the restraint is the point: the production work is the interface.
Motion carries the brand's athletic identity into the browsing experience itself. Scroll-based transitions and subtle animations keep the pacing close to the rhythm of the campaigns on display, fast enough to feel energetic, controlled enough to feel precise. Minimal assets and lean copy keep load times tight across the site, which matters for a studio whose entire argument rests on visual impact landing immediately.
