- Project Brief: Design an app experience that translates TTMM’s experimental watchface collection into an immersive and accessible mobile platform.
An app design succeeds when it extends an artistic universe without flattening it into a product catalog. Signal-A's TTMM app for Albert Salamon's Fitbit watchface collection does that by treating the interface as a continuation of the work rather than a container for it.
The visual system mirrors the watchfaces themselves: soft blush and teal color blocks, clean spaced typography and generous negative space give the browsing experience the same considered restraint as the designs it's presenting. Each watchface gets its own full-screen treatment, name and tagline set in light type against a matching palette pulled from the face itself.
Accessibility within complexity is the hardest design problem the app has to solve. TTMM watchfaces use abstract time-display mechanics, so the detail screens include explanatory text that walks through the logic without reducing it: "The big hour indicator is in the middle. Below it the minute counter divides into six square blocks of nine dots."
Filtering, search, favorites management and device-specific previews handle the practical layer without intruding on the editorial one. Signal-A builds an interface where a collector browses with the same attention they'd give a gallery, and the utility sits ready underneath whenever they need it.
