- Project Brief: Design packaging that positions makhana as a bold and modern snack through storytelling and vibrant branding.
A food packaging design stands out when the product inside feels worth discovering before it's even opened. Orange Tribe's work for Makhyam Crunch does that by turning makhana into a culturally grounded snacking experience with enough visual confidence to hold its own on a crowded retail shelf.
Character-driven illustrations reflect the diversity of Indian flavors without flattening them into decoration. Spicy oranges, creamy teals, and himalayan purples give each variant its own color territory, and expressive typography carries the brand's indulgent energy without losing the health credentials underneath it.
Unique regional characters anchor each flavor to something specific and recognizable. Premium detailing keeps the packaging from reading as mass-market even when it's sitting in a mass-market environment, which is where the design does its most important work.
Makhyam Crunch lands in the space where cultural authenticity and contemporary snacking overlap. Orange Tribe builds a visual system specific enough to carry a story and flexible enough to grow a product line around it.
