  • Project Brief: Create packaging design for OTZ LAB fragrances that combines matte black steel, laboratory-inspired glass, and Constructivist graphics to express OTEYZA’s avant-garde approach to perfumery.

Fashion and beauty packaging for a perfume can carry a concept as much as a scent. Lavernia & Cienfuegos build OTZ LAB around a duality, pairing matte black steel with fragile glass to echo the brutalist art of Donald Judd and Sol LeWitt.

The bottle frames the fragrance like a sculpture. A test-tube vial of amber liquid sits suspended inside an open black steel rectangle, nodding to the lab and to the technical rigor behind both perfumery and the OTEYZA world.

The cap carries the brand's classical side. A plain cylinder crowned with a swirled color sphere personalizes each scent, so every fragrance gets its own marbled marker against the stark black frame.

The boxes translate that order into color and grid. Constructivist blocks of purple, green, and clay, each keyed to a fragrance, reference the same movement that shapes OTEYZA's garments, tying the packaging back to the fashion house it came from.
