Eight & Bob packaging design by Lavernia & Cienfuegos.
Eight & Bob is a luxury fragrance packaging project inspired by the brand’s origins in 1930s European elegance. The design translates this heritage into a contemporary object, combining Art Deco references with a refined, tactile experience that reflects both tradition and modern sophistication.

  • Project Brief: Design luxury fragrance packaging that reflects heritage, craftsmanship, and modern refinement through materials, structure, and storytelling.

Packaging in the luxury fragrance space has to do two things at once — hold a story and feel good in your hands. Eight & Bob's design handles both through structure, texture, and details, quiet enough to let the craftsmanship come through.

Materiality defines the experience from the first touch. The ribbed glass bottle introduces texture and depth, allowing light to interact with the fragrance and giving the object a sense of weight and permanence that cheaper materials can't replicate.

That physical presence is reinforced by how the form is put together. The geometric bottle paired with a cylindrical cap creates a refined tension between shapes, where precision and elegance feel like two sides of the same coin.

Minimal labeling and engraved elements shift focus toward craftsmanship, letting the design communicate quality without heavy-handed branding getting in the way.

From there, the experience extends beyond the bottle itself. Book-inspired secondary packaging frames the product as a story, so by the time you reach the fragrance, you've already been pulled into the brand's world.

That sense of discovery continues even after unboxing. Hidden engravings and layered components reward slower, more deliberate handling, turning what could be a simple product interaction into something that feels genuinely considered.

Andrea Owsinek-Brucker calls the design "elegant and nostalgic," paired with elevated presentation. Kitty Lai notes the brand story comes through clearly in the packaging. Together, the comments confirm the design's quiet confidence is working as intended.
