  • Project Brief: Design interactive outdoor posters that double as playable football goals, turning traditional print advertising into a hands-on brand experience for fans.

Sports and leisure print rarely invites the audience to play with it. Carlsberg's Goal Posters do exactly that, planting street-level ads that double as makeshift football goals anyone can walk up and shoot at.

The design is almost nothing, and that's the trick. A white-outlined goal on Carlsberg green reads as a normal poster until someone clocks that the goalmouth is real, at which point the ad becomes a pitch.

Typography carries the brand recognition. The line sits in Carlsberg's flourished script wordmark flanked by simple white serifs, so "If Carlsberg did football ads..." scans instantly as the brewer's voice, with the spaced-out "probably the best beer in the world" sign-off set small beneath it.

The positioning lands as sharply as the gag. While rival brands chase star players for tournament spots, Carlsberg hands the game back to ordinary fans, and the impromptu kickabouts spreading online prove the print did its job.
