- Project Brief: Craft a product video that reinforces Rare Beauty's brand values through emotional storytelling, inspiring narration, and uplifting audiovisual design that celebrates authenticity and self-expression.
A product video doesn't have to sell you anything, and Rare Beginnings pretty much proves it by hardly showing the product at all. The 45-second spot from Rare Beauty leans on feeling instead, selling the brand as a movement more than a makeup line.
What really carries it is the sound. A warm, hopeful track swells at just the right moments, and somehow three quarters of a minute ends up hitting like something a lot longer.
The voiceover is calm but sure of itself, slow enough that the whole thing sinks in without ever feeling rushed. FRED & FARID sat the narration right on top of the music so the two ride together, and neither one steps on the other.
The visuals keep quiet to match, just a soft studio garden and a single jar near the end. That hands the job over to the sound and the story, which fits a brand that cares more about how you feel than what's on the shelf.
