We engaged Syntactics in late April 2025 for what was sold as a premium, targeted SEO campaign. The onboarding was friendly and confident, and we were told to expect high-quality, niche-relevant, Australian-based backlinks, technical SEO improvements, competitor analysis, and a clear roadmap.Before choosing them, we noticed many positive reviews online. In our opinion, a large number of these appear to be from employees or otherwise not genuine, so we would strongly encourage potential clients to look beyond the star rating and read the details.The reality for us was the opposite of what was promised, and the screenshots below speak for themselves:Organic traffic fell by 370 visits per month after engagementTop-ranking keywords in positions 1 to 3 dropped sharplySite health score fell from the high 90s before Syntactics to 55(Screenshots from Ahrefs attached)What Went WrongPerformance Declines After EngagementThese drops happened after Syntactics began their work. There is no reasonable way to present this as a “foundation month” when the actual result was a backward step in rankings, traffic, and site health.Backlink Strategy MisrepresentedWe were promised Australian-based, industry-relevant backlinks. Instead, we received links from irrelevant forums and free blog platforms like Tumblr, Blogspot, and JustPaste. These had no topical or geographical relevance and were not what we agreed to.Key Deliverables Missing or LateCompetitor analysis and keyword gap strategy were never deliveredOnly 2 blogs in the first month instead of 3 as promisedKeyword targeting fell short of the 16 to 25 agreedTechnical SEO reporting was vague until repeatedly requestedPoor CommunicationMeetings were missed or started late. Early reporting was high-level and avoided key performance issues. The NSW-only geo restriction in our structured data was never disclosed and was only discovered by our new SEO consultant.The OutcomeDespite multiple opportunities to correct the work, the campaign failed to deliver on the core promises. We were left with worse rankings, lower site health, poor-quality backlinks, and additional costs to fix the damage.Our AdviceIf you value your search rankings and site integrity, avoid Syntactics. Disappointing Glimpse into Their Recruitment Standards, Outdated Website, Inconsistent Job Postings and Last-Minute CancellationsI had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this company's hiring process.I applied for the Social Content Manager role. After passing their paper screening, I was told I was already scheduled for an interview. We had a few email exchanges to finalize the time, and I was asked to secure my slot through Google Calendar, which I did.To accommodate this interview, I canceled one of my meetings from my side hustle—only to receive a last-minute notice on a Friday that the position was no longer available. It was incredibly inconvenient and speaks volumes about how little they value applicants' time and effort. A straightforward rejection would have been fine, but instead, they chose to waste my time with zero regard or professionalism (and I’m juggling two jobs while studying at the same time).When I followed up, the HR simply told me to "feel free to check other opportunities." I actually did. I browsed their website and noticed that the job listing was still up, not only there but also on their LinkedIn. I pointed this out and even mentioned that their website might be outdated.To make things worse, the job ads had inconsistencies—roles that I personally knew were supposed to be remote or hybrid were oddly listed as 'onsite' on LinkedIn, which raises red flags about the accuracy of their postings. (Dishonesty) - I got connections to verify this.This was my first time encountering such treatment from a company, and it's very telling. I initially thought the negative insights shared on Reddit might be outdated or exaggerated—but now I see there may be truth to them after all.There’s clearly a lot of room for improvement—not just in their internal processes, but also in their digital presence: website, LinkedIn, and social media. For a company supposedly involved in digital or branding, they should really hold themselves to a higher standard.Sadly, I do not recommend this company—whether as a potential employee, a place to apply to, a future workplace, or even as a brand to trust.

Avoid this company at all cost. This company took 4 long months to develop our e-commerce website, the delays and technical problems we've experienced resulted to missed sales opportunities and frustrating setbacks. Despite the delays, the website is still faulty resulting to customers messaging us that they cannot use the website to order. They gave a solution to remove the additional like the pop up ads etc. that was probably causing the poor performance of the website however they do not want to refund the additional payments that we paid. P156,000 for a faulty, poor performance website is not worth it plus the stress that they will give you.
