I’ve worked with Ockham on and off for about ten years. First in San Diego and years later in Minneapolis. The fact that I’ve kept coming back to them says a lot.Regardless of the project, Ockham has always gone above and beyond. Regardless of how difficult the productions were or how tight the budgets, they’ve always found solutions to make it work. All the while bringing their “A” game. With absolutely nothing compromised. (Okay, maybe the breakfast burritos were room temp, but that’s about it.)The crew is tight, fast, talented and more importantly fun and easy to work with. I’m astounded at how much they can get done in a day. Especially while dealing with picky, perfectionists and demanding creative directors. (Guilty.)As director, Thierry also extremely well thought out opinions and a point of view. He masterfully communicates his thoughts in exceptional detail (bonus… in a French accent!) Fortunately, he’s also extremely collaborative, open-minded and willing to experiment. Oh, and he actually puts together his own treatments! Crazy, right?The end result? Beautiful footage. Great commercials. Happy agencies. Happy clients.Regardless of the genre, whether it’s sfx, animation, live action… a commercial, short film, corporate video… editorial, color correct, or anything else needing a production company, I’d have complete faith in Ockham to deliver.Obviously, I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Thierry and Ockham again. I shot 2 projects with Ockham in San Diego last year. Both had very challenging Production needs, and tight budgets. Those guys came through beautifully both times. They know how to make a tight budget work, and we never felt like anything was compromised due to cost. The footage was beautiful and we made our days both times.The second project involved a CG character, so Ockham handled all of the Animation and compositing, too. Benny the Tooth turned out great in his first speaking role.The thing that I love about working in San Diego is that we can still Cast in LA for key roles, but Production costs are about 60% of what they would be in LA.
