Team Behind the Design
JFL Consulting is a cybersecurity firm providing secure infrastructure, custom hardware, and information operations support for government and enterprise clients. As the company grew, its digital presence no longer reflected the depth or sophistication of its offerings. The redesign focuses on clarity, authority, and engagement while supporting future scalability.
Website Design Analysis

When evaluating website designs in highly technical fields, I look at how structure, motion, and content hierarchy work together to communicate expertise without alienating users.
As a professional services website, JFL Consulting’s platform demonstrates how a complex cybersecurity offering can be presented with clarity, authority, and control.

- Navigation & Information Structure: I appreciate how the mega menu immediately exposes the breadth of services and products, reducing friction for first-time visitors. The hierarchy supports fast scanning while still allowing deeper exploration for technical audiences.
- Visual System & Atmosphere: The dark interface, restrained color palette, and high-contrast typography reinforce a sense of precision and authority. This approach aligns well with cybersecurity expectations while avoiding visual clutter.
- Motion & Scroll Interaction: Subtle motion is layered throughout the site to guide attention without distraction. I love how llustrations gently pan upward, text shifts slightly on scroll, and key elements animate into view using smooth, controlled transitions that add depth to the experience.
- Content Presentation & Engagement: Replacing dense blocks of jargon with modular, scroll-activated content improves readability and pacing. Product storytelling, especially the MACK feature with 360-degree visuals, helps translate advanced technology into clear, tangible value.
Collaborator Input

Word from the Agency
"Our first priority was to streamline navigation. Incorporating a mega menu, users can now see JFL Consultings full spectrum of services and products at a quick glance and select the areas most relevant to them. To increase immediate engagement, our video editors created a dynamic hero video for the sites homepage that highlights the companys key value propositions. Meanwhile, our content strategist replaced dense, jargon-filled paragraphs with digestible morsels that dynamically load as the user scrolls."– Design In DC
What Brands & Designers Can Learn from JFL Consulting

Here are three key lessons from the JFL Consulting website redesign:
1. Use Structure to Tame Complexity
Clear navigation and exposed service hierarchies make a complex cybersecurity offering easy to scan and understand. Strong information architecture builds confidence without oversimplifying expertise.
2. Let Atmosphere Reinforce Authority
A dark interface, restrained color palette, and high-contrast typography signal precision and control. Visual tone plays a critical role in aligning digital presence with technical credibility.
3. Apply Motion with Discipline
Subtle scroll-based animations guide attention and add depth without distraction. In technical fields, motion works best when it supports clarity rather than competing with content.
