  • Project Brief: Design a flexible rental management app that unifies fleet operations, scheduling, contracts, payments, and reporting into one intuitive plinstead

A real estate app and a fleet rental platform share the same underlying problem: operators run wildly different businesses, and most software makes them bend to fit it. Valara starts from the opposite premise, that the tool should flex around the operator instead

Goji Labs built the whole interface around one idea, which is that no two rental businesses run alike. Fleet size, pricing, and daily workflow change from shop to shop, so a rigid product breaks the moment it meets a real operator. The design answers that by handling the dependencies between features rather than shipping a pile of modules and hoping the user wires them together.

The smartest move is the "Action Needed" status running through everything. An order shows payment partially paid, a license waiting to review, insurance not submitted, and a contract still to sign, all in one glance. A rental owner does not want to remember which of five things is blocking a handoff, and Valara surfaces the blockers instead of burying them in separate screens.

The Manifest view is the daily driver. It lays out the day's check-ins and check-outs with a hard Check-Out button right where the clock pressure lives, so the person at the counter works the actual timeline of the day rather than hunting through a database. The mobile app carries the same flow onto the lot, where cars actually get handed over.

Payment reflects how rentals really collect money. Pay in full, pay a deposit, or pay in cash all sit in the same flow, which matches a business where a customer might drop a hundred now and settle the rest at pickup. Most SaaS checkout pretends only one path exists, and this one does not.

The products index proves the flexibility claim. Car rentals, ride-along experiences, jet skis, and kayaks all live in one catalog with their own types and statuses, so the platform is not quietly built for cars alone. That range is the difference between a tool for one client and a tool for the category.

The proof sits underneath all of it. Goji Labs migrated Royalty Exotic Cars onto the platform as a live deployment, then tuned the product on real usage before letting other companies on. A rental interface earns trust by surviving a busy Vegas lot first, and Valara went through that before it asked anyone else to switch.
