As an accounting firm I would give them 1 star. I recently discovered a litany of deductions they failed to consider. You will be given an EA, which is just a glorified tax preparer. They will know nothing and be slow to reply. You might as well get your taxes done by H&R block or a proper independent CPA. If these folks do your taxes, get prepared for a larger tax bill. I strongly advise against it.

Had a terrible experience with Gheen & Co. They managed our books and taxes for a few years. From the beginning the communication was spotty, they never answer the phone and get back to emails at a snails pace. On top of that they missed $40,000 in taxes we owed and never alerted us it was due. We had to hire a third party book keeper and it took them months to fix the mess they made in our quickbooks. After canceling with them they sent us a bill for our 2023 tax filing with was completed looong time ago.

EDIT 1: And now they're claiming my refusal to be interrupted and talked over on the phone was "abuse." Or was it my reaction when instead of replying to my email, you sent your reply to my husband's email, when I was clearly the only sender on that email? You must be beset on all sides daily!I received no mention of any attempt to cure this situation. Not any. Please resend me the alleged attempts.And thank you so much for divulging specifics about my case on a public forum. I will definitely add this breach of confidentiality to my complaints with the BBB and Colorado State Board.Attempting to play victim instead of taking responsibility for your actions will get you nowhere.DO NOT hire this company unless you have about $10K to flush down the toilet.I first contacted this company in the Spring of 2025, and my final payment (after the $1750 down payment) of $7k was cleared in early May.As of today, August 5, there has been NO WORK done on my case. I found out today after hounding them again that one of the people assigned to my case went on maternity leave, and the company did not see fit to inform me of this at all.I am currently in the process of requesting a full refund, and I'm hoping their complete ineptitude and disregard for their clients does not extend to their refund department.Don't worry, I will definitely keep you posted.

We will never use them again. They made some big errors on our 2023 tax return and then wanted to argue when we questioned them. The lady actually started yelling at us. We finally went to a CPA for a review and we were correct. These people claim that everything is rechecked for accuracy which is not exactly true. Save your money and go to a competent CPA

I only did the free consultation. Mr. Stewart was very articulate, friendly and informative despite me not paying anything. He recommended me to find a different CPA, because he did not specialize in my tax issues. He provided contacts and pointed me in the right direction. Please do your research before having anything to do with this company. Choosing them has been one of the worst decisions of our lives. We chose them based on their largely positive Google reviews. And while Matt is certainly the ring leader, the entire company (Debbie, Annie, and Elee) consists of people who are missing morals, ethics, and any sense of societal responsibility. When Matt did our taxes we owed 20k. When I hired a third party to redo our taxes because something felt wrong, we received an 11k refund. That's nearly 100k of exaggerated income. Not to mention the fact that they owe us an additional 70k. The efforts we are going to have to make to get our money back is going to cost us an excessive amount of time, energy, and resources. But, we've worked really hard for our money and we are motivated to get it back.
