🚨 Cautionary Note to Fellow Business OwnersOur company paid Evergreen Media (Pty) Ltd a deposit payment R13,656.25 for website development. Despite multiple emails and a formal legal letter of demand served on 18 August 2025, the company:Did not deliver the website;Ignored the refund request;Failed to confirm whether the files still exist.We are sharing this experience to caution other small businesses. All statements made here are factual and documented.As a small business trying to support local service providers, we engaged Evergreen Media (Pty) Ltd to build a website for us. We paid R13,656.25 upfront.Despite multiple follow-ups and a formal legal demand, we received neither the completed website nor a refund. Their attorneys acknowledged receipt of our final letter on 18 August 2025, but no action was taken.We have now escalated the matter to the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud and are preparing for further legal steps.This is a factual account supported by documents. We share this not out of malice but in the public interest — to remind fellow SMEs to:✅ Always use written contracts✅ Avoid full upfront payments✅ Use escrow or milestone-based payments for servicesIf anyone has had a similar experience or needs support in dealing with service-related disputes, we’re happy to share what we’ve learned.
