Dave and his team are phenomenal. First when I approached Dave, I was letting him know about some marketing struggles we were having at our gym and he offered to come take a look and didn't approach us for a sale, just to provide insight and value.We loved the adjustments he recommended and the holes he saw that could be fixed. I started working with SoftDoes when our product had already grown beyond the point where small fixes were enough. We needed to rethink several parts of the system and make sure the next stage of growth would not create even more technical debt.The team got into the project fast. Within the first few weeks, they helped us identify the main bottlenecks, clean up several fragile integrations, and improve the parts of the platform that were slowing us down the most.One practical result was that a key operation that used to take around 4-5 minutes now takes less than a minute. I also saw a noticeable drop in recurring technical issues after the release.What I liked most was the way they worked with us. Very little ceremony, clear communication, good technical judgment, and a strong sense of ownership.I’d be happy to work with SoftDoes again on another complex software project.

My experience with SoftDoes has been extremely disappointing. Their communication is terrible, the people I dealt with were highly unprofessional, and their pricing is absolutely outrageous compared to the value of the work being delivered.One of my biggest concerns is the company’s lack of transparency. From what I’ve observed, their development work appears to be outsourced to people in Ukraine through another company called Come Back Agency. Even when I searched for SoftDoes online, its website appeared to redirect to Come Back Agency.Take a look at their LinkedIn yourself. They present themselves as a Kansas City-based company, yet I couldn’t find a single employee listed as being based in Kansas City. That raises serious questions about their business structure, where their team actually operates, and who you’re really paying to develop your software.My interactions with the CEO, Orest, were particularly unpleasant. I found him extremely arrogant, dismissive, and condescending. He speaks to customers as though they’re beneath him. Rather than addressing legitimate concerns professionally, his attitude made an already frustrating experience even worse.Their Google reviews also raised serious red flags for me. Several reviewer profiles appeared to have AI-generated profile pictures, and the reviews themselves read as though they were written by ChatGPT rather than genuine customers. Many of these accounts had only ever reviewed SoftDoes.After I confronted them about these concerns, I noticed that some profile pictures had been changed to what appeared to be stock images, and the accounts had gained an additional review of random places. I cannot independently verify who operates these accounts, but the timing and patterns made me seriously question the authenticity of their online reputation.Nothing about my experience with SoftDoes has inspired trust. If you’re looking for custom software development, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Verify who you’re actually doing business with, who will be developing your software, and what you’re paying for.

Scott Botkins was referred to me by Anne Shannon of Anne Shannon Graphic Design, whose website was developed by Scott. At the time, I was with a web design firm that was extremely unreliable with both the work they performed, as well as with their follow up. More often than not, phone calls and emails went unreturned and when requests for changes and revisions were finally performed, they were often incomplete or incorrect. I was in desperate need of a reliable company that I could count on to manage and maintain my website.When I first spoke with Scott Botkins he was extremely generous with his time, as well as patient with my litany of questions. Immediately after speaking with him, I decided to take a chance and make Scott Botkins my new web designer. I have to say, after about 1.5 years in business, this is probably one of the best decisions I’ve made for my company.There are just I few criteria I expect from people and companies I choose to do business with—I look for those who are honest, have strong work ethics and are accountable—which means they do what they say they are going to do. In the short time I’ve worked with Scott, he has proven himself to be all of these things and more. He always meets his promised deadlines; he always returns calls and emails; and best of all, when he gives me a quote for how much something will cost, he always meets that figure or comes in under budget.
