Extremely Disappointing Experience with Acuity Bookkeeping and Accounting ServicesI hired Acuity to help with bookkeeping and accounting, but the results were frustrating and unprofessional. Instead of properly categorizing transactions and providing accurate reports, almost everything was labeled as "uncategorized," making the books completely unreliable.They set up several automated apps that required me to pay extra subscription fees. None of these tools integrated correctly, and they only made the situation more confusing. Rather than helping me gain financial clarity, their system created more problems and wasted both time and money.I was hoping for experienced support and clean financial records, but what I received was a disorganized mess. I would not recommend Acuity to anyone looking for dependable accounting services.

Don't go to Honeck O'Toole. They overcharged us, would not tell us why when we asked. We were clients for 2 years and they dropped us without warning during tax season. We used Honeck O'Toole for over two years. The first year we had no issues, we paid $400 for our return and had a good relationship with Sue and Joyce.The second year everything was going well, until we received an invoice for 6x (2400+) the previous year's return. We had spoken to them on several occasions and were expecting a higher bill, however we were expecting maybe 500-600 more, not 2000 more!We asked for an itemized invoice since we were shocked and confused by the 600% markup. We ultimately called and paid the invoice in full and offered to prepay for the upcoming tax return since we wanted to salvage the relationship and we were late paying the previous bill since we needed to understand the charges. We were told by Kathy that she needed to check on the cost and would get back to us. We then received a letter in the mail, firing us as a client in the MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY.

CSI Accounting may try to spin this by saying they offered me a new accountant or that taking onboarding fees from my account—after our relationship was terminated—was warranted. It was not.The truth: I received no tax advice, no business guidance, and no real onboarding. The only thing they provided was payroll, which I paid for separately. My assigned tax person came to our meeting without reviewing my file, admitted to being new to the systems, and openly struggled to use them.Charging me for this is indefensible. Withholding services, then helping themselves to my business account after termination, destroyed any trust. Whatever they claim, the fact is simple: I paid for services I never received.I hired CSI Accounting to support my business with the expectation of receiving high-quality service based on their confident promises. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. Despite the strong sales pitch, they failed to deliver on key aspects of their service.When I raised concerns and requested a fair negotiation regarding payment for services that were never rendered, they abruptly ended our relationship “effective immediately.” I then began formally disputing those charges through my American Express account. Rather than respond to the dispute in good faith or allow the process to play out, CSI took an entirely inappropriate step: they bypassed the dispute process and directly accessed my business checking account—without my consent—to withdraw the same funds.This withdrawal occurred more than a week after our business relationship had already been terminated and without any form of authorization from me. I did not give permission for this transaction, and their actions represent a serious breach of both trust and professional ethics.

Takes absolutely forever. No one to follow up to make sure all members of your “team“ are moving as they should. You can’t just call and get somebody on the phone. You have to schedule a time with them which could sometimes be months only for them to tell you they’re missing paperwork, Or “I’m not sure that’s not my department” or in my case, oh your person is no longer with the company. I have to reassign you to a new person! I had two months of business tax paperwork to combine with my personal tax paperwork and here it is August 2025 and those are still not done!! As a new business owner, I thought I was doing the right thing by hiring a team because I knew I had no business messing around with any numbers, but I have been so stressed out and Creating more work for myself after hiring them, then I would have with any other company. Don’t make the same mistake I did! stay away!

You know that scene in Christmas Vacation where Clark gets a Jelly of the Month club "gift" instead of a bonus? Well, that's the equivalent of what we just got from HPG. After using HPG as both our business and personal accountants for YEARS, we received a letter in the mail on Christmas Eve (!) stating that, effective immediately, they would no longer be our accountants due to a staffing shortage. There was no warning months or weeks ahead (I assume this staffing issue didn't suddenly arise on December 24), no phone call, no referral to a different accountant, no consideration that year-end taxes and the work therein goes into high gear just 8 days later. Just buhbye.We were not happy with their overpriced yet mediocre service, but it's a real pain to find a new accountant, so we stayed. I guess we can thank them for their lack of any sort of consideration or care towards us, as it forces us to finally find a better fit.

Should you use HPG for accounting services? Yes, if you want your payroll tax submissions to be filed late and have to pay late fees. Yes, if you don't expect to get any email or phone responses from their partners. Yes, if you expect to pay higher fees than other accounting firms. Yes, if you expect your account relationship to be mishandled and evenually dropped. If these are your expectation of accounting services, then I recommend them.

Not bad for taxes. Communication is horrid and nobody knows what’s going on. They act like they do, but they don’t. They prioritize “keeping clients” over quality and trust. Not for nothing but there always seems to be some kind of excuse for why they can’t help me. They should hire more staff instead of putting me down. It causes me more stress.
