HR should understand that people who apply for jobs put their time, effort, and hopes into the process. If the company is not interested, at least have the courtesy to give a clear update instead of ignoring candidates.Such irresponsible behavior reflects badly on the company’s culture and values. Me and two of my friends recently went for a walk-in interview at 8 Views. Honestly, it was such a disappointing experience. They made it look like a big hiring drive, giving the impression that they were recruiting multiple people for the same position. But in reality, it was just for one single role.They first contacted me on LinkedIn, then followed up with a personal WhatsApp message asking me to register, and even called to confirm my attendance. After all that, we reached the venue along with nearly 150 other candidates.The procedure was smooth initially. We were given a 40-minute written exam, followed by a technical round with the team lead. I and one of my friends didn't make it past that round, so we left. But our other friend stayed back and went through three rounds of interviews. We later got to know that for the role he was applying for, there were about 40 candidates and only 3 made it to the final round. Out of them, one went for the HR round, and then the HR literally left the office. The remaining candidates were just told that they'd be informed on Monday — by the way, this happened on a Saturday.During our time there, one thing was very obvious — referral candidates were clearly given more importance. The people guiding us during the process were more attentive and friendly towards those with referrals. Even during lunch, it was noticeable how referrals were being treated differently.If they already had referral candidates in mind, they could have just handled it internally. But no — they did this whole walk-in interview drama, made hundreds of people come, wasted their time, energy, and gave false hopes, making them compete with people who were probably already selected. It was honestly pathetic.This same thing happened to another friend of mine. They liked her profile, called her for an interview, took her through four rounds, and then ghosted her saying “we’ll inform you.” And this happened twice.It’s clear now — 8 Views hires mostly through referrals, not on the basis of skills. If you’re planning to go there without any reference, don’t waste your time. The company might have a good work culture, but their hiring process really sucks. It’s biased and disappointing. "
