Rob Kahn, the Owner and Executive Creative Director is as modest and down-to-earth as he is exceptionally talented and professional. In numerous collaborations over the years, Rob and his team have always surpassed expectations. They deliver on time, on budget, and on brief. They do everything from original music composition, sound design, sound editing, branding, commercial, experiential, narrative work... they do it all. And do it with utmost passion, care, and precision! They're really easy to work with and always bring fresh ideas to a project, big or small. Mixology's client list is a veritable who's who of industry leaders and media brands: HBO, NBCUniversal, National Geographic, Sundance, Nike, and ESPN to name just a few. I've used Elastic Canvas's services twice now and will definitely again in the future for all my self tape submissions. I emailed Matt the material for my auditions prior to our session and on arrival camera and lights were already set up to film. We filmed three takes for each scene (9 takes in total), then selected the three to send off. Within an hour Matt had graded and edited the footage together and uploaded them to be accessed by my agents and casting directors in London and LA respectively. So you have an idea- the next big thing-CONGRATULATIONS! What next? For me as an engineer, it's always a meeting with Roger from Aarons CGI. Why? Animations are the ultimate minimum viable product (MVP) for many concepts, and with Aarons CGI I always get three times the value compared to platform giggers (like Fiverr). How so? 1. Amazing Quality: The finished product is always amazing in terms of the rendering and the physics (if it involves movement). In most instances, the animation was better than I imagined (and I have a good imagination!). 2. Fresh Eye Review: Unlike job-shops, Roger doesn't just simply animate your emailed storyboard; he becomes an extended part of your team for a time, making the effort to get down in the weeds in order to understand your concept/vision as well as your message and the intended audience. This review process (go slow to go fast) is of incredible value because it makes you think things through (forces slow thinking), and the innocent questions raised by Roger are the same as your viewer will have. In many instances, the concept has been materially improved as a result! Let's face it, inventors are often blind to the needs and perspectives of their "customers". 3. One Take: This is where the ‘go slow to go fast’ strategy pays off with the final step proceeding quickly and efficiently in a single step, to the agreed schedule. How? Simple, all the issues have been ironed out beforehand (step 2). Seemingly cheaper options usually work out much more expensive and take longer to do, because you do the job more than once (typically 3 iterations). So...Got a concept? Take my advice, the next stop should be Aarons CGI for an MVP with 3x the value!

I hired 5Gear Studios for a corporate event we hosted in June. From the very beginning, they were great to work with. Darren took the time to meet with me and discuss in detail what we wanted. The booking process was smooth and their staff are responsive and easy to work with. Come the day of the event, the staff were prompt and friendly. They do a great job of catching moments without being in the way or being obnoxious. Unfortunately we did have a snag, it was one of the hottest days of the year and our venue lost power so we were evacuated from the building -- the filming team followed us to a second location and continued to film, rolling with the punches without hesitation. They were amazing to work with. I have only seen a draft of our sizzle reel so far but I am impressed with the turn around time and the quality of the reel. Overall, I highly recommend 5Gear for any videography needs.
