We've dealt with MarketSpan and in particular Rob Wilkinson their MD since October 2019. From directing and producing our promotional company videos to creating, updating and monitoring our content for our Google and Microsoft advertising campaigns, Rob has been invaluable every step of the way. When we ask for changes they are done instantly and his constant monitoring and tweaking of content has proved utterly invaluable while simultaneously maximising our exposure, ad-efficiency and crucially our profitability in what is a very expensive and highly regulated market place. I unfortunately had a dreadful experience with MarketSpan and found them to be an unprofessional and untrustworthy company.I contacted the company to assist with a website design and development project and after an extensive discussion with Rob, he advised me that although they could not start straight away, they were confident they could complete the job by the end of September. He stated “Excited to be working with you on this”.Subsequently, as one of the first steps, he advised me that he would require access to my domain to set up the staging area to start work. This concerned me as using a subdomain for a staging environment can result in issues with SEO and security and can also have a negative impact on the main domain if anything bad was to happen on the subdomain.I additionally queried the £120 *per month* fee for the website on top of the almost £3000 fixed fee for the website completion as this monthly fee seemed very high relative to many other hosting providers which I had enquired with.From here, everything started to go wrong. When I stated explicitly that my preference was not to use my own domain as the staging environment, that I was considering alternative hosting providers (which offer a separate staging environment) and wanted further clarity on exactly what the £120 *per month* fee included on top of the actual website cost, the project was very promptly cancelled!Approximately 2.5 hours after the developer had emailed me saying he was “fresh as a daisy” and after I had emailed with the clarifications requested, I received an email from Rob stating “Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Due to current and future obligations, we are not going to be able to work on your new website this summer. I discussed with the team, and we are not going to be able to create your website in the time frame we originally discussed”. There was no offer to reschedule, no discussion, just the blunt cancellation of the project by email!It appears obvious to me that as soon as I queried the staging environment, hosting and monthly fee, Rob then coincidentally cancelled the work blaming workload obligations which had suddenly materialised and unplanned leave. This was handled in an extremely disrespectful and unprofessional manner by Rob and MarketSpan. Rather than discuss my legitimate concerns and questions, the solution was to completely cancel the work.I would not recommend this company as they have proven to be untrustworthy and unreliable and could waste your time.Also, the website pricing pdf I was given by email does not match the prices advertised on their website which is misleading.Be careful! "
