Just had the MOST unfriendly and rude call back from Norman Blatner. I called this office earlier today explaining that I was looking to hire a CPA to help me with NYS tax questions.I received a call back from Norman Blatner well after 5pm. He seemed to have misunderstood what exactly I needed help with and very rudely told me that he would not be able to help me and he was "just calling as a courtesy to let me know to remove his contact info from my list of people who could help me". When I tried to explain what it was that I actually needed he kept cutting me off and re-stating that he was just calling to tell me that he couldn't help me. He spoke very fast and wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. His tone was rude and dismissive. He definitely is not anyone I would want to do business with. I don't know if he treats everyone like trash or if I was just the unfortunate victim of him today. I do not recommend anyone reach out to this guy for your CPA needs. Do better Blatner & Mineo CPA PC!!!!!

Penny over charged me for my service. I spoke with a lot of my peers and they were absolutely shocked with the price a paid. I have a small solo cleaning business & I caregiver (on the books w/ a company so a W2). We were very disappointed with our experience when we had our taxes done here last year. The cost was outrageous and the service was poor. They are aware that some Mayo employees get reimbursed $600 for the cost of tax preparation and charge these people $750. If you qualify for this reimbursement, I recommend negotiating the price before they are aware of this. We found out after the fact that this benefit is taxed, so the out-of-pocket cost is much larger than the $150 we had expected. There is nothing complicated about our taxes to justify this cost (W-2, student loan tax forms, mortgage interest, etc.). Despite the outrageous cost, we decided to go with them last year because we thought we would get a higher level of service and advice on how we can minimize our tax liability in the future. The service was, unfortunately, very poor. They provided no advice for future tax seasons and didn't respond to our emails when we had questions about how to pay the taxes that we owed. We resorted to calling a friend who works in taxes. Terrible service at 5 times the price. Do not recommend.

I hired Burkland Associates to help our family-owned business transition from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. We have been in business since 1973, and while I understand that Burkland focuses on startups, we had been informed their team could help us with the significant accounting overhaul we needed as an established business. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. From the very start, working with Emily Felceti was frustrating and unprofessional. Despite making it clear that our books were outdated and our accounting needs were complex, Emily’s attitude was dismissive, and she provided no meaningful support. When my mother joined the conversation, Emily became increasingly rude. There was only one virtual meeting between the three of us during which Emily appeared overwhelmed with the task of training small business owners, and she never provided the training we needed. Afterward, Emily canceled every meeting we tried to schedule and failed to follow through on any commitments. Due to Emily's lack of responsiveness, I eventually reached out to Karina Kongo, who had helped us during the initial stages of the transition. Karina was helpful, but by this point, we had already been left without the support we desperately needed. Burkland unexpectedly dropped us as clients in the middle of our work without completing the transition, leaving us in a difficult position. We did not pay the final invoice because the work was left unfinished, and we were left to manage the transition ourselves. Burkland then turned the unpaid invoice over to collections, and the correspondence included an internal email from Emily, in which she inaccurately and unprofessionally described us as “very rude and difficult to train.” In reality, there was only one meeting, and during that time, Emily was neither helpful nor responsive to our needs. While I believe that Burkland Associates may have strong team members suited to startup-focused projects, our experience was a significant disappointment. Emily's lack of professionalism, poor communication, and mishandling of the transition was a major setback for our business. As a small family-owned business, this left us in a very challenging situation. We were wildly frustrated and disappointed with how this relationship was handled, and I would not recommend Burkland Associates to established businesses seeking reliable support.
