There are many accounting companies out there, and there is only one Treewalk. We went through four different accounting companies before finding Treewalk. And they are by far the best we ever had. Good accounting is the backbone of any business, and Treewalk goes well above and beyond to keep things on track. It's the touch points and care that they exert of your file that sets them apart. I would get constant updates and immediate responses to my questions. As a business owner, I cannot recommend Treewalk enough. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Boyle, Deveny & Meyer. When I first met with their CPA, I was told my tax preparation fee would be about $100 more than what I paid my previous accountant. That seemed reasonable given that they are a larger firm.What I did not expect was a bill that was $725 higher than that estimate. I was never given a written quote or a fee schedule. This lack of transparency feels misleading at best and deceptive at worst.I sent a formal letter to Boyle, Deveny & Meyer expressing my concerns about their billing practices and received no response whatsoever. That kind of disregard for clients is unacceptable.In the end, I paid what I was quoted—last year’s fee plus $100—and they cashed the check without issue. I would strongly caution others to get everything in writing and be very careful when dealing with this firm.

I first contacted BDM on 1/17/2025 about doing my taxes. Two weeks later on 1/30/2025 I had a short conversation with an employee who asked me basic onboard info and he said that an accountant would reach out in 3 weeks to start my taxes. Today, on 2/18/2025 I received an email from the firm saying that they aren't taking on new clients and wishing me luck. This puts me in a difficult situation finding a new accountant this late into the season. It is also highly unprofessional to string me along for a full month just to tell me they aren' taking on new clients. So to recap:1. 1/17/2025 I contact BDM.2. 1/30/2025 BDM calls me to ask me basic onboard questions. I'm told that an accountant will reach out in 3 weeks to do my taxes.3. 2/18/2025 I receive an email saying they're not taking on new clients, even though they told me last month they would.Find an accountant who respects your time, because this firm certainly does not.

I have been using RKKM for years for my taxes and have been very happy with them. This year has been different. Though I had my information there on 3/3 and met with Bruce on 3/10, a month later I still have no information on my return or how much I owe. He indicated it was " probably a standard return". A phone call from me a month later revealed that they were e-mailing a question to an incorrect address. When they got no response for 2 weeks, they did not try a phone number. Someone other than Bruce was doing my return and did not have the information given to Bruce on the 10th of March. Seems their recent merger adversely effected their communications. In a week I have to mail in my return. I still do not know if I owe $6, $600 or $6000.

Mohit and team went the extra mile and provided more than just the run of the mill services that a lot of accountants provide. We were very disappointed with our experience when we had our taxes done here last year. The cost was outrageous and the service was poor.They are aware that some Mayo employees get reimbursed $600 for the cost of tax preparation and charge these people $750. If you qualify for this reimbursement, I recommend negotiating the price before they are aware of this. We found out after the fact that this benefit is taxed, so the out-of-pocket cost is much larger than the $150 we had expected. There is nothing complicated about our taxes to justify this cost (W-2, student loan tax forms, mortgage interest, etc.).Despite the outrageous cost, we decided to go with them last year because we thought we would get a higher level of service and advice on how we can minimize our tax liability in the future. The service was, unfortunately, very poor. They provided no advice for future tax seasons and didn't respond to our emails when we had questions about how to pay the taxes that we owed. We resorted to calling a friend who works in taxes.Terrible service at 5 times the price. Do not recommend.

I couldn't be more thankful for Kevin and his team. We had to move to a CPA a few years ago when we created our Trust, and it was a pulling teeth type scenario each year to complete our taxes.
