Let me start with the positives to be fair: The team has always been professional in their communication and onboarding felt easy and welcoming a few months ahead of tax time. But when it was time for actual filings to happen, it started to fall apart. WCG says they're great at S-Corp elections, both on their website and client comms -- saying they have a "100% success rate". But sadly they failed on mine. 8 months later, the IRS confirmed to both myself and a new CPA firm that they never received the retroactive election from WCG. I asked, bumped, and probed the team several times to follow-up on this... and I felt like our conversation just went in circles. Asking simple questions were also just too much to get a straight forward answer on. And in the final state tax filing, there was an error that would have added an additional $900 in fees added to my total cost, further showing the lack of detail WCG had on my file. Because of this failure, it caused the later federal and state filings to be rejected -- something they had no awareness, stemming from the lack of awareness of the IRS never receiving the initial S-Corp retro election. It now has caused a ripple effect on my business and personal filings... This has already triggered several thousands in penalties, and I'm having to pay for documents to be drafted once more by another firm. I'm not sure if the firm is now oversubscribed with clients, but things are not in alignment with what it seems others typically experience. I would suggest business owners look elsewhere to ensure your filings are accurate.

They have multiple offices and addresses posted online. One time I drove to Sherwood Park, and it was not the right place. Then I had to email to confirm which address they were at. They did my taxes during tax season, and it was fine. But I asked to set an appointment to discuss my RDSP. The receptionist told me on two separate occasions that they'd get ahold of me after tax season. I still have yet to hear from them. When I'd go into the office it seemed disorganized, I can understand Tax Season is very busy and a lot of paperwork but keep in mind this is confidential information, and paperwork should be left all over the place where everyone can see.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Acuity Bookkeeping and Accounting Services I hired Acuity to help with bookkeeping and accounting, but the results were frustrating and unprofessional. Instead of properly categorizing transactions and providing accurate reports, almost everything was labeled as "uncategorized," making the books completely unreliable. They set up several automated apps that required me to pay extra subscription fees. None of these tools integrated correctly, and they only made the situation more confusing. Rather than helping me gain financial clarity, their system created more problems and wasted both time and money. I was hoping for experienced support and clean financial records, but what I received was a disorganized mess. I would not recommend Acuity to anyone looking for dependable accounting services.

Pat always greets me with a "no problem" vibe and I actually look forward to seeing him, although many people do not look forward to paying taxes and speaking with their CPA! Pat eases any concerns and answers every question each time we meet. He also looks ahead and helps with tax strategy.

I wanted to reach out and personally thank Brown Edwards! Specifically Bradley. I recently lost my mother, father and brother and inherited some money and investments. Me, being a scared 20 something year old grieving the loss of my family, reached out to my financial advisor who told me brown edwards could help me. He notified me in advanced of the expensive cost of their services but I was more than willing to pay the price to have peace of mind and the help of experts. I called brown edwards and was transferred to Bradley P. We discussed the cost and I notified him I was more than willing to pay that price. Bradley laughed and kindly notified me that they typically only handle the “top of the top in Roanoke”and said i could be better served by a company that rhymes with “hr clock”. So, I contacted that company and guess what? The man I spoke with actually used to work for Brown Edwards! He left his position there to travel the world and Spend time with his family, And he was able to help me and my silly step up in basis concerns, at only a fraction of the cost! So I personally would love to thank Bradley for laughing in the face of a scared young woman who lost each and every one of her immediate family members, for making me cry when I was at my lowest, and recommending a different company. I will also add the receptionist was 10/10 she was very sweet and apologized on his behalf

So I've used a ton of different accountants over the years to do my crypto bookkeeping. None of them did a good job. In fact, the accounting firm I used on the previous return made a mistake that costed me a ton in penalties. That firm was also charging me $300/hr for what was clearly outsourced help that barely understood crypto. I never realized how much more costly hiring the wrong accountant was. So most of these places will pick 1 crypto accounting software and stick to that. The issue is that if you use any new blockchains, it might take the software company a while to write the code to parse the new blockchain. So the nice part about working with Justin is he would build scripts to handle those cases. Other accountant places would do it manually and just rack up billable hours. Justin was very thorough and diligent. My dataset is pretty complex and he navigated it very well.

Let me start by saying that I have spoken to many accountants and many of them did not have the knowledge to assist me. I did some extensive research and came across Founder's CPA . Honestly, they are the gold standard when it comes to crypto taxes and preparation. I was so worried because I had a lot of transactions from different exchange platforms to the point it gave me a headache. I first had a consultation with Curt and Justin. I immediately knew they were the ones to help because they were able to answer every question and concern I had. Justin was incredible every step of the way. He was responsive to emails and questions and made me feel like an individual and not just another random client of theirs. They provide great service and their turnaround time is fast yet efficient. I can't say enough about this company. They were really accommodating and made sure that I understood everything which was a huge plus for a new crypto investor.
