If you're considering working at Connexus Resource Group, brace yourself for an exhausting, demoralizing experience that will leave you burned out, underpaid, and questioning your life choices. This company operates like a modern-day sweatshop, exploiting employees with unrealistic expectations, pitiful wages, and a toxic work environment that prioritizes profits over people. The workplace culture is cutthroat and demeaning. Supervisors hover like prison guards, scrutinizing every call and nitpicking minor mistakes. Instead of support, you get constant criticism, with the ever-present threat of write-ups or termination if you don’t meet impossible metrics. Favoritism runs rampant, and HR exists only to protect the company—not the employees. Don’t be fooled by empty promises of "career advancement." Promotions are reserved for management’s favorites, while everyone else is stuck in the same dead-end role. Training is minimal, and turnover is sky-high because people either quit from exhaustion or get fired for not meeting unrealistic expectations. In conclusion, Connexus Resource Group is a call center nightmare—a place where employees are treated like cogs in a machine, worked to the bone, and discarded without a second thought. If you value your mental health, dignity, or fair pay, steer clear. There are better jobs out there—this one isn’t worth the suffering.

Working on the same position for over a year, being told I'm one of their best agents and never getting a raise and overall being treated like I don't actually matter. Would never recommend working for them to even my most hated enemy.

I would avoid working here if you can. I worked here for 5 years, and really hated it. Tried to find other work and was unable to for a long time. I ended up quitting because they were going to demote me after being a Team Lead for about 4.5 years. It was really disappointing and heartbreaking, especially since I loved my team of agents. The first couple of years were good, but after a while it just became unbearable. The last campaign I was on, Solutran, literally sucked the life out of me. My supervisor and my agents were great, but I had to fight for my agents to be treated fairly. The company goes by Connexus Resource Group now, they merged with a few other call centers in 2021. One good thing I can say about the merger was we were finally able to get PTO after not having any paid time off at all. The pay here sucks, I was only making $15.50 for being a team lead, and that was only after 5 years of tenure. Most agents were making around $11.50 to $13. It's very hard to get raises here, so if you want to work here and not be compensated properly this might be the right place for you. Avoid this place, it will only ruin your mental health and cause you more suffering.

I’ve tried a lot of different lead generation companies for my roofing business, and Call Center Docs has been the best by far. The leads I get from them are real, solid, and actually turn into jobs, not just random calls or bad info like I’ve gotten elsewhere. It’s been a huge difference for my business, and I can honestly say they’ve given me the highest quality leads I’ve ever worked with.

Results of surveys conducted by this company are not valid and cannot be useful because their methodologies are wildly unethical. I received several requests by mail to participate in a survey being conducted by this company on behalf of OHA. I chose NOT to participate in the survey, which asked personal and confidential questions about mental health history and substance use, because i am a practicing psychotherapist, and I do not make these kinds of disclosures to anyone who is not my doctor.Eventually, several "researchers" (marketers) showed up at my home address to pressure me into responding to their survey, even noticing the "no solicitation, please" sign on my door and commenting "we're not here to sell anything." First of all, anyone door knocking as part of a research study should have a baseline understanding of what the word "solicit" means, which means TO ASK FOR SOMETHING, like for example, responses to a survey. Secondly, no survey in which participants are "selected" and then pressured to make disclosures about their personal and confidential health information at the threshold of their own homes is ethical. if responses were not collected ethically, then i simply do not see how the results of such a survey could be unbiased and informative in any way. As a tax payer whose dollars likely contributed to the hiring of this firm, i'm angry about the waste of money, and also about being harassed at my own home. Furthermore, it upsets me that the results of surveys that have not passed through any formal review process can be published and presented alongside information that has. this is precisely the kind of thing that undermines legitimate and useful research, biasing lawmakers and constituents alike. Ick.

Extremely disappointing experience with Answer United. We signed up expecting a professional answering service that would follow our script, properly represent our company, and provide transcripts/recordings of calls as promised. None of that happened.Within the first weekend of service, we lost multiple jobs due to calls being handled poorly and the script not being followed. The representatives often sounded unfamiliar with our business and procedures, which reflected badly on our company. When we requested transcripts and recordings, we were told would be available; they were never provided. Customer service was also very frustrating to deal with. When I asked for a refund because the service was not delivered as agreed, I was told they had already invested time setting up the account and script. We invested employee time into that process as well, only for the agreed-upon procedures to be ignored. After bringing up these issues, communication largely stopped, and calls/emails went unanswered. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want an answering service that will professionally represent your business.

I used their service for a little over a year. They are very good at taking calls and usually answer them promptly. They would then pass on the message via email, though often some things in the message didn't make it across. However, if that was all I needed, then an answering machine would have been enough, I hired them as a virtual receptionist and to make appointments. Ultimately I left their service because, after more than a year they seemed to know very little about my business, they routinely had trouble answering callers' basic questions about the business. They often bungled appointment taking and I felt they were costing me business.I worked with them multiple times to change the script but still to no avail, they just didn't do a very good job as a VR.I think using them as a message-taking service is fine but would not expect anything more of them.

Our favorite vendor, Answer United! As a growing company with a handful of Customer Care staff inhouse, we had a critical need to find a partner that could handle our call influxes during prime time as well as assist in creating an Emergency Line which our clients could use that would reach our after hours manager.Barbara and the Answer United group have exceeded our expectations in not only the quality of service, but their ability to make small, custom changes that really boost our ability to provide a higher level of communication to our customers.Looking forward to expanding our business relationship into the 2020 year!

Frequently Asked Questions About Call Center Companies

What services do these types of companies in US usually offer?

Call centers encompass specialized agencies that manage both incoming and outgoing customer phone calls, often providing customer service, technical support, or sales services. These providers use advanced technologies to route and handle calls efficiently, thus maintaining effective communication between businesses and their clients.

They typically offer services such as:

  • Inbound customer support: Providers handle incoming calls related to general inquiries, complaints, billing questions, and service issues
  • Technical and help desk support: Agents assist customers with troubleshooting products, resolving service disruptions, and escalating complex problems
  • Outbound calling services: These include sales outreach, follow-ups, customer surveys, reminders, and customer retention calls
  • Order management and account support: Providers help process orders, manage returns, update customer information, and assist with payments
  • Multichannel support: Many providers engage customers through phone, email, live chat, SMS, and social media messaging
  • Appointment scheduling and lead qualification: Some providers manage bookings and screen inquiries before routing them internally

In the US, over 50% of companies outsource at least part of their customer service operations.

On the other hand, outsourced centers report agent utilization rates of approximately 85-90%, compared to 65-70% for in-house teams, which supports higher operational efficiency.

How much does it cost to hire these services in the United States?

Industry pricing benchmarks show that standard inbound customer support is commonly priced between $20 and$30 per hour for US-based agents, depending on coverage hours and agent experience. Pricing for call center firms in the United States is typically based on usage, call volume, and service complexity rather than a single flat rate.

More specialized services, such as advanced technical support or compliance-driven call handling, often cost more and typically range from $30 to $50 per hour due to higher training and skill requirements.

In addition to service fees, technology costs can significantly affect total pricing.

Call center software alone can cost around $75 per agent per month, and this figure does not include staffing, call handling, or operational services.

What additional costs should businesses expect beyond base pricing?

Many providers in the United States charge setup or onboarding fees for agent training, system integration, and quality assurance work, which may not be included in the hourly quote.

Technology and software can add separate expenses, such as customer relationship management (CRM) tools, call routing systems, or analytics platforms.

Infrastructure and operational overhead, including telecommunications, hardware, and office costs, also contribute to total expenses for US-based programs.

Finally, specialized services such as after-hours support, multilingual support, or advanced reporting often come with premium charges.

How long does it usually take to set up and begin with the services?

Launching a call center program in the United States typically takes anywhere from a few weeks to several months.

Small or virtual call center programs in the US can often launch within a few weeks, as setup usually involves selecting software, hiring agents, and completing training without physical infrastructure.

Larger on-site or traditional call centers typically require 3 to 6 months to launch due to facility setup, telephony, and hardware installation, large-scale hiring, and compliance requirements.

In general, the team size, service complexity, technology requirements, and whether the operation is virtual or on-site are the primary factors that determine how quickly a call center program can go live in the US.

What types of businesses typically work with call center companies in the USA?

Many businesses rely on these companies to handle customer service and support, particularly when call volumes are high or 24/7 availability is required. Common industries include:

  • Telecommunications: Handles massive customer inquiries about plans, outages, billing, and tech issues that benefit from dedicated phone support
  • Healthcare: Needs structured patient communication for scheduling, billing, follow-ups, and after-hours assistance
  • Financial services and insurance: Requires careful call handling for claims, account questions, fraud alerts, and compliance issues
  • Retail and eCommerce: Manages order help, returns, delivery questions, and loyalty support that phone reps often resolve faster
  • Technology and SaaS: Uses live agents for onboarding, troubleshooting, and complex product explanations where self-service falls short
  • Travel, real estate, legal, and home services: Frequently convert incoming inquiries into bookings or leads, making missed calls costly
