I was hired this week for a remote position. I was told I would be getting a company card to make purchases of the software and things needed to perform the job. After I turned in my w4 I noticed there was a hard inquiry on my credit. The person hiring me said that was for the company card. I said I was not comfortable with that. She said it was only for the company card. I then said why can’t I just create an expense report like other companies I’ve worked for? She said that was ok and then asked me my credit limit and offered to pay it off so it can be fully used for work. I agreeed and within minutes there was a payment made by quad city bank to my credit. Becoming more skeptical I reached out to capital one to inquire about the hard inquiry and also the payment made. They verified that enshored tried to open a credit card fully in my name, not attached to the company. The person hiring me keeps trying to convince me this isn’t a scam but when I google this situation, all signs point to scam. Nobody answers the phone at this business and the ceo doesn’t respond on linked in. I asked them to destroy my personal information, I have had no response of confirmation. I also noticed they are not accredited on the better business bureau this is a complete hoax.

Scammers! The person calling posed as Customer Service representative for my ISP. I had recently placed an order with my ISP and the caller knew about it. The person demanded that I pay the entire amount now otherwise the order wouldn't process. I argued saying that the rep yesterday said I don't have to pay until the service gets started. To which he replied that that's not how it works and I have to pay now otherwise they will sue me. I said call me back in half an hour and I will have my payment information ready. I didn't answer when I got the call back.

Market Force offers rock-bottom secret shopper rates that I was a fool to ever accept. Market Force does not offer mileage compensation. In my sparsely-populated area, the combination of low rates and no mileage makes every secret shop a losing proposition.Some secret shops involved information security checks, and should definitely be handled by trained professionals rather than farmed out to the lowest bidder. It's a bad look for companies to entrust duties for such low rates.The online portal (through which shoppers have to submit all their information) feels like it was made in 2004.Once you successfully complete shops, you will be contacted by a bottom-of-the-barrel call center by someone who barely speaks English, offering you new shops. I opted out of these calls and they called me back anyway.
