On the 4th of January 2023, I had a call with Melissa Harans Levenson and her husband Logan Levenson on a call to discuss how to improve my brand and website. Melissa promised to send the contract the next day and a detailed video of what the project and fees will cover and what we be done for my brand Explore With Kevs and websiteI received an email on the 5th of jan from Melissa with a contract attached and a link to the video explaining the contract. I noticed the audio wasnt working so I called this to her attention but she refused to resolved this. She asked me to make deposit payment of $2000 via paypal family and friends. This was my first payment to her and i made payment by selecting the default payment method which is goods and service. Melissa reached out to me again stating I had to cover extra fees since i did not select family and friends. she insisted to make a refund and i should make sure i selected family and friends to avoid extra chargers.BIGGEST MISTAKE, I did as she requested on the 5th of January. After payment i was asked to fill a questionnaire and send over some brand details in order for us to start work on the 30th of January. On the 13th of January i reached out to her and requested that we cancel the work for couple of reasons, 1. it didnt make sense for me to embark with this financially not knowing the outcome of their work for my brand knowing they didn't state exactly how income will be generate and the EXACT work to be wasnt clearly stated on the contract, it was vague i.e what customizations will be covered?Melissa, said if i refuse to proceed i will lose my deposit. I spoke to her and pointed out that the contact says if i cancel for any reason i will not get a refund but at this point no work or submission has been done, kick off is Jan 30th so why am i not getting a refund since I am not canceling after work begun. I tried to be reasonable with her instead she stopped replying and sent my contact to her lawyer
