Universal Equations, Inc. is a highly-skilled IT services provider specializing in cloud-native software and data engineering. Our solutions are written primarily in Java, Scala, and JavaScript. We are an NY/NJ MSDC certified MBE based in the New York Metropolitan area.

We have 15+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Node and JVM-based applications, ensuring seamless delivery of various IT projects, and successfully creating and software applications and executing their deployments. We possess strong expertise in leveraging Agile/Scrum methodologies, producing detailed technical documentation, and designing optimal software solutions.

At Universal Equations, the day-to-day operations of Universal Equations are led by Technical Lead Mensah Alkebu-Lan and Technical Project Manager Mary Clemons, PMP.

A Technical Lead (or Tech Lead for short) is a senior leading role for a Software Engineer. In the Tech Lead role, Mensah Alkebu-Lan is not only an individual contributor but is also responsible for leading the software development team and alignment of the technical direction. By striking the appropriate balance between technical skills and management skills, he exemplifies effective technical leadership to ensure the team uses appropriate engineering practices.

He focuses on maintaining a productive working environment for the development team. He also ensures all team members understand and follow major technical decisions. And as with any good tech lead, he also reviews pull requests and writes code. In other words, he is not just a team leader but also a technical leader.

Technical Project Managers are tasked with managing projects with top-down oversight from inception to completion. In the Technical Project Manager role, Mary Clemons is responsible for providing planning and management for established initiatives within the company.
