Android’s new WhatsApp beta will include an exciting new AI-powered feature - the ability to create unique stickers based on text prompts.
Although details are still unknown, testers of the WhatsApp beta program have spotted the AI-powered sticker generator. The personalized stickers created using a text descriptor will be able to be shared with other WhatsApp contacts.
While it is uncertain what generative AI model the app is using, it is known that it is "a secure technology offered by Meta."
According to WABetaInfo, the personalized stickers will be easily identified, although how is yet to be confirmed. Users speculate that a unique watermark may be in question.
The newest round of WhatsApp’s software development will also have to tackle the question of how to limit what kinds of stickers can be created to prevent the sharing of harmful or explicit content through the app.
This is the latest update in a round of new WhatsApp features, including the app’s enhanced sticker and GIF selector and its screen-sharing feature for video calls.
