Although the COVID-19 pandemic has long since passed, it can’t be denied that it has affected the way we shop, play, and work, forever changing many norms.
One of the more glaring changes is the proliferation of remote work, with many companies adopting a hybrid style that allows employees to go to the office only when necessary.
Being forced to work remotely during the pandemic made many realize that it not only saves on cost for both the employer and employee, but the freedom it gives workers makes them happier — and therefore, more efficient — at their jobs.
Remote and Hybrid Work Are Here to Stay
Studies separately conducted by the Pew Research Center and Gallup show the following results:
- 35% of American workers with jobs that can be done remotely are completely working from home in 2023
- 81% of employees are already working hybrid or fully remote
- 90% of office workers prefer hybrid work and don't want to go back to the pre-pandemic way of working
With these statistics, the future of remote work is most likely cemented. And it’s not a surprise that people are on the lookout for ideal places to work remotely.

“Businesses also benefit from the increased desirability of remote working, as it allows them the widest talent pool to choose the best candidates for a job,” DesignRush General Manager Gianluca Ferruggia said.
“This could be done by hiring workers for remote roles or by outsourcing projects to digital contractors when a full hire might not make financial sense. This increased importance for remote working options prompted this study.”
