Burger King is giving its iconic Whopper a sweet and savory twist with the nationwide launch of its new Candied Bacon Whopper.
This new menu addition, hitting stores today, features all the classic elements of the Whopper – a flame-grilled beef patty, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, and crunchy pickles – with decadent upgrades: sweet and smoky candied bacon, bacon jam, crispy onions, and garlic aioli.
The candied bacon, prepared with a special glaze, adds a surprising layer of flavor and texture to the familiar taste of the Whopper, offering a tastebud adventure.
This bold move is not the first time Burger King has experimented with creative Whopper variations.
From the spicy Ghost Pepper Whopper to the plant-based Impossible Whopper, the chain has consistently embraced innovation in its signature sandwich.
The Candied Bacon Whopper represents a continuation of this trend, tapping into the growing popularity of sweet and savory combinations in food culture.

“Burger King has a new Candied Bacon Whopper starting Monday and as a bacon fan I am excited about this one,” Instagram influencer Snackolator stated in their post.
“I've been told that this burger has a little bit of a spicy kick to it which I am also happy to hear,” Snackolator added.
While some may find the sweet and savory combination unusual, it is worth noting that Burger King is not alone in pushing culinary boundaries.
Other fast-food chains have also introduced unconventional items, such as fried chicken and waffles sandwiches, or donut burgers. This trend reflects a growing consumer openness to unique flavor combinations and a willingness to step outside the box when it comes to fast food.
Whether the Candied Bacon Whopper becomes a permanent fixture on the Burger King menu or a limited-time offering, it is another testament to the chain's known willingness to experiment and cater to evolving tastes.
More than a week ago, Burger King Brazil heated its rivalry with McDonald’s in a campaign that aimed to officially change McDonald Islands to Whopper Island.
It's a remote group of islands in the Indian Ocean that is home to an active volcano – a fiery hot place that Burger King claims should only be named after its famous flame-grilled burger.
