Slate is a billing and bookkeeping product for businesses that invoice in Israel. It covers the documents a business is legally required to issue: tax invoices, receipts, combined tax invoice receipts, credit notes, quotes, delivery notes and proforma invoices. Each one is numbered in a gapless sequence per business and per document type, digitally signed at the moment of issue, and frozen, so a later change to business details never rewrites a document that already went out.
Allocation numbers (מספר הקצאה) are requested from the tax authority automatically while the invoice is being issued, so an invoice that needs one never leaves the system without it. If the authority declines, Slate reports the reason, offers the alternatives the regulation allows, and records which one the business chose.
Beyond issuing, the account holds a customer book, a product and service catalogue, expense recording with input VAT deduction and income tax percentages applied per category, and periodic and detailed VAT reports that reconcile output against input. Receipts photographed on a phone are read automatically into a draft expense that a person reviews before saving. Finished documents go out as a PDF, by email, or as a link the customer can open. Businesses arriving from another system can import their document history, and every business can hand its accountant a complete file at the end of a period.
One login can hold several businesses, each with its own numbering, logo, details and document history, which suits an owner running more than one entity.
The interface is Hebrew-first and right to left, with a full English version and foreign currency support for businesses billing abroad. It runs in a browser on desktop, tablet and phone with nothing to install, and can be added to a phone home screen as an app.
Slate is free to use. There is no document cap, no trial period, no feature held back behind a paid tier and no credit card required to open an account.
