There are many good things that can, and should be said about Swift Manufacturing. First and foremost is that their part quality is outstanding. Regardless of manufacturing process and material, the surface finishes they achieve have always met or exceeded our expectations, and I've never found a stray burr on a finished part part. End to end concentricity on turned components that require multiple fixturings has always been high, and runout has been difficult to measure.An equally important aspect of working with Swift is that they are willing to do a manufacturing side design review with engineers. On more than one occasion Swift has gone through our parts and offered suggestions on how to alter designs to improve manufacturability, achievable surface finishes and tolerances, and final part cost. This is not something I've experienced when working with other machine shops, and it's one of the biggest reasons I prefer working with Swift. "

Swift has proven itself time and time again as a go-to company for design, prototype, and production work for me. Whether it has been an entire product design, production support, or rapid prototyping, Swift has been great to work with. Prototype turn-around times are always reasonable and they have often been able to work with me to improve timelines when needed. They are always interested in helping. Recently, when a quote came back higher than anticipated, they worked with us to figure out how to adjust their manufacturing process to hit our target cost. Normally, other companies will simply quote and not be willing to discuss DFM, or get creative to meet a cost/time goal. "

We've been working with Swift for at least 5 years now and have been consistently impressed with both their eagerness to take on challenging jobs and the quality and timeliness of their work. Charlie, Aaron, and the rest of the Swift crew are an excellent team to work with. I've sent them a number of referrals over the years and will continue to do so well into the future. What a nightmare. Last year we awarded Swift Mfg. in Madison Wisconsin a small laser / brake job as part of a large scale project we were contracted to design and build. A week before the project due date I called again to status the work and was told it was still scheduled for the following week so the next morning I emailed cancelling the order. Shortly after they responded saying the “parts were finished but cannot not ship due to additional processes” and for several days they would not take my calls. This delay forced us to redesign the parts using available materials and run the work over the weekend before delivery at substantial cost to us. Since then they have called, emailed & trolled our business online demanding payment and because their latest email has taken a threatening tone I will now respond. Mr. Heidenreich, we worked with several different vendors to complete that project and with the exception of Swift each performed flawlessly and professionally. Swift could not deliver on time and will not be compensated for whatever it is you claim to have done for the reason given and I will respond in kind to the feedback and remarks you have left on many different forums regarding Winchester Machine & Fabrication.
