Standout Features:
- Clever "word of mouth" concept
- Bold visual contrast
- Clear visual hierarchy
Enter Magazine, a conceptual project for Time Out Magazine, aims to attract nonconformist travelers by offering "Unconventional Travel Destinations." Marissa Cole tackled the challenge of flipping conventional travel idioms for a bold and immersive magazine experience.
One of the most striking features is the cover — a literal take on the phrase "word of mouth." The design incorporates an oversized mouth as the central visual element, symbolizing shared travel stories. Instead of simply hearing about a destination, the concept suggests that readers can directly immerse themselves in these stories. This creative choice aligns with the magazine's tagline and reinforces the idea of nonconformity.
Flipping through the pages, you'll see that the design creatively reflects the magazine's exploration and discovery theme. The spread features an engaging mix of bold typography, striking imagery, and detailed content. Full-bleed travel images and compelling textual narratives offer a rich, immersive reading experience.
Lastly, extensive, bold quotes immediately draw readers in. A dedicated sidebar for facts also provides concise and easily digestible information. This visual hierarchy captivates and informs, making each page a unique journey!
