Disjointed, Overpriced, and Underwhelming – Regretful Investment.I invested into a combination of SEMrush, SEMrush Enterprise, and Ryte, expecting a best-in-class SEO and digital marketing solution. Unfortunately, the reality has been deeply disappointing. The platforms are complex, fragmented, and not seamlessly integrated — each feels like a standalone tool rather than part of a unified system. Switching between them is clunky and inefficient, making strategic workflows more difficult rather than easier.Despite the massive cost, the support is severely lacking. Getting meaningful assistance is slow, and when you do get help, it's often superficial or passed between different teams without resolution.SEMrush is oversold and overhyped. What’s marketed as an all-in-one solution feels more like a collection of partially built tools. It’s not intuitive, and the learning curve is steep — with poor onboarding for enterprise clients, which is shocking given the price point.Worst of all, I’m locked into a rigid annual contract, leaving me with expensive tools that don’t deliver the promised ROI. I expected premium service and performance, but instead got a tangled mess of dashboards, half-useful data, and buyer’s remorse. If you're considering SEMrush for your business — especially at the enterprise level — proceed with extreme caution. "

Unfortunately, I didn’t see the ratings here before my free trial experience.I wanted to review the tool to determine what I need to do market research for my new brand.I intended to subscribe after 2 months from the free trial which will be when I’m ready to establish the brand, but they work like scammers and didn’t cancel my subscription request.Customer service very slow to respond, in top of that they have charged my account additional charges for a service that I didn’t request. Also, when I tried to delete my Visa card info the website was lagging and didn’t work!!!!Even the website customer service doesn’t work, it’s like they are doing this slow and no customer service strategy just to scam you. "

The review is for their Customer Service. They get their billing wrong - don't have a clear way to add / remove users/add-ons with the subscription - and when they get the billing wrong, they won't fix it. It's a decent product - but there are enough options in the market for us not to want to get overcharged or deal with poor customer service. "

From a Promising Demo to a Frustrating, Expensive DisappointmentWe had a very promising demo in 2024 with Marcin Dembski, which made Semrush look like the ideal tool for our business. Everything seemed clear, helpful, and well-presented. Based on that, we committed to the platform and started a subscription.Since then, it has been a complete failure. We were paying nearly $500/month expecting a professional, efficient SEO toolset backed by solid customer service. Unfortunately, the experience has been the opposite. The platform is overloaded with features that look useful in theory but are either limited, confusing, or require additional paid add-ons. You’re constantly being upsold, which makes the real monthly cost much higher than expected.Worse, the subscription management is a nightmare. After realizing we weren’t using even half of the tools due to either complexity or lack of time (and with zero support to guide us), I downgraded our subscription. As a result, some listings disappeared, and several key features stopped working without any clear warning or explanation. The customer support is practically non-existent. Email responses take over 3 days, there is no clear way to reach a live person quickly, and demo requests are left unanswered for days. Everything is routed through bots or endless ticket loops, which is incredibly frustrating—especially when you’re paying a premium for what should be a high-level service.Honestly, if you enjoy wasting money, time, and energy trying to get basic help, then this is the platform for you. But if you’re looking for an SEO tool that respects your business, offers real human support, and delivers what it promises—look elsewhere. We are seriously considering canceling our subscription completely. I want to warn other professionals: Semrush may look like a comprehensive SEO solution on the surface, but in reality, it’s overpriced, inefficient, and lacks the reliable support that every serious business deserves. "

I was excited to try a free trial to see if I could pitch Semrush to my company, however, I thought I cancelled it in time but only found out weeks later that they charged me over $400 for a service I didn't use. Now they're refusing my refund and their customer service is not helpful. Don't use this company, they will scam you the first chance they get. "
