Meredith Richards Review from Google5.0 ★
Meredith Richards's Review Sourced from Google
There are bars you stumble into, and then there are bars you find—like a scene you didn’t know you were waiting for. Tucked away on a cobbled side street in Edinburgh, The Last Word feels like the kind of place where something important might get said, even if it’s just between you and your cocktail. Candlelight flickers against stone walls, pillows invite you to sink in without apology, and the vibe hums somewhere between antique and intimate. It’s all low-key charm and quiet confidence. And then—there’s The Last Word, the cocktail. My favorite classic. Sharp, herbal, and perfectly zesty, like it’s been edited within an inch of its life and comes out saying exactly what it needs to—nothing more, nothing less. Beefeater gin, green Chartreuse, maraschino, lime. Four ingredients. Infinite satisfaction. Beautifully balanced. Always. It’s the drink you order when you want to feel grounded and lifted all at once. And in a space that feels designed for meaningful pauses and second rounds, it lands just right. Some bars try to impress. This one simply doesn't have to.
