Unfortunately, my experience with Dot IT was disappointing, particularly regarding their after-sales service. Despite receiving a notification that our website was finished, over 70% of the basic functions for an online store were missing upon review. This was not the standard I expected from an experienced company, especially given the premium price we paid.
While we worked together to address the feedback, I ended up contributing to the development process myself to expedite progress. After making the final paymenton the understanding that we would continue refining the website during the agreed three-month technical support periodI was met with limited follow-up on my comments.
I provided organized feedback in a Google Doc, categorized as critical or normal, expecting proactive communication and updates. Instead, I had to engage in constant follow-ups, a process I only expect when working with freelancers, not professional agencies. This lack of initiative was frustrating, especially as I had communicated my prior negative experiences with freelancers and chose Dot IT for a seamless, professional service.
Additionally, while we agreed to use the same server and hosting, the basic theme used was a surprise. I had anticipated more effort in redesigning the site, particularly as that was the primary reason for the contract.
