Proceed with Caution: Ethical and capability concerns.I hired DDNYC for an e-commerce website project that was paid for in full in May 2025. This followed a positive experience working with them on branding in 2024, which is why I trusted them with the website build.The website project has experienced significant delays, unresolved functionality, and ongoing execution issues that remain present today (which they claim to be resolved). Core features have not functioned as intended, and the site continues to require fixes that are now attempted to be addressed by a new development team willing to step in and stabilize the platform.Throughout the delays, work was repeatedly described as complimentary due to missed timelines and internal development challenges. As issues escalated, DDNYC later attempted to retroactively re-characterize more than a year of prior work as billable, including referencing an older branding scope that had already been completed and paid for in 2024.Most concerning, the agency is currently refusing to release my website for transfer to a new team unless "outstanding items" are addressed. This has directly disrupted my business operations and raises serious ethical concerns about professionalism, transparency, and client treatment once a project encounters difficulty.For additional context, I’ve documented my experience in detail on the Clutch platform. Based on my experience, e-commerce brands should be extremely clear about deliverables, timelines, billing practices, ownership of assets, and exit terms before engaging this agency.**UPDATE** BEWAREI feel I have to warn others to stay clear of this company. As of December 16, 2025, my website has still not been released to me despite full payment under a signed statement of work, and the website still has errors that have not been resolved. All invoices issued to me have been paid; no additional invoices have been provided, yet access and transfer are still being withheld.Based on what has happened with my website, I do not believe this company operates in an ethical or trustworthy way. "
