After doing a lot of freelance work on WordPress, we discovered that most people used cheap offshore freelances, who did terrible work and left clients' sites full of problems, including security vulnerabilities, backdoors, slow performance, malware and more.
We also discovered that 100% of clients we did work for did not have anyone regularly managing or maintaining their website, they waited until something broke, and then hired a different freelancer each time. This resulted in tons of different people having full admin access to their website, many of whom would continue to login after the work was done and cause problems, in the hope of getting more work presumably.
We also discovered that a lot of the other agencies were simply outsourcing all their work to India or freelance websites, and so suffered from the same issues.
