  • Project Brief: Create food and beverage packaging that introduces Birdie’s Brekkie through vibrant pink visuals, playful character branding, and a cheerful diner-inspired aesthetic.

Food and beverage packaging carries the whole personality when the food itself is a familiar McMuffin. McDonald's Australia hands that job to Birdie, a long-dormant McDonaldland bird revived to front an all-pink breakfast in diner-styled boxes.

The system leans hard into one color, running hot pink across the frappé cup, wrap sleeve, and Happy Meal box. A retro grid pattern and a hand-drawn Birdie mascot give it a nostalgic diner look rather than a slick fast-food gloss.

The wrap sleeve does the cleanest work, banding "Birdie Brekkie McWrap" in coral over a speckled cream base that reads warm and handmade. It signals a limited-edition twist without abandoning the McDonald's shorthand of golden arches and familiar red.

The character is the strength and the strain at once, since Birdie carries the launch but the cartoon leans childlike against an adult-breakfast pitch. The pink universe scans instantly on a feed, though the packaging risks reading as a Happy Meal for kids rather than a grown commuter's morning order.
