- Project Brief: Create a billboard campaign that reintroduces Mr. Clean while connecting the Shower & Tub Scrubber to modern self-care routines.
A billboard earns its spot when one image makes you look twice on a busy street. Mr. Clean's "Shower & Tub Scrubber" outdoor work, by Chase Design Group, does that by dropping the muscle-bound mascot into a bathtub and dressing the whole thing up as a beauty ad.
The joke is in the framing. Shot in glossy grayscale like a high-end skincare campaign, lines like "your everything shower starts here" and "a deeper kind of clean" borrow self-care language and aim it at the tub instead of your skin.
The placement sells the bit. Pasted high on Lower Manhattan brick at Bowery and Great Jones, the black-and-white panels stand out hard against the red walls and city clutter around them.
The system flexes across formats. A vertical wall mural, a square rooftop board, and a wide product layout all run the same beauty-mogul gag while keeping Mr. Clean and the pink Magic Eraser pack clearly in frame. For a cleaning brand, hijacking the beauty world's visual language is a sharp way to get noticed.
