- Project Brief: Create a digital archive for Better Off® Studio that showcases its creative history through editorial typography, curated project entries, and a content-focused browsing experience that encourages discovery.
Arts and recreation projects come alive when a studio shares the culture behind its work. Gil Huybrecht and developer Jesper Landberg built The Lookback for Better Off Studio as a digital capsule of the music and moments from its last few years.
The homepage lines up photos of surfers, skaters, and street scenes in a long, angled ribbon that pulls your eye across the screen. A small player in the corner shows the track of the moment, like Post Malone or Broncho, so the archive comes with its own soundtrack.
Each numbered entry carries a simple tag like Inspire or Showcase, plus the month it happened. Click one, such as the 99 Cents Only Store gallery exhibition, and it opens into a full write-up with a source link and video.
A short menu of Timeline, Surf, Index, and About lets you switch views without digging through layers. Heavy black type and a chrome globe logo keep the studio's voice loud on every page.
