Year Founded

. Cushing opened its doors in October 1929, just days before the stock market would crash and send the nation into The Great Depression. The company persevered and has served the Chicagoland business community ever since.

Founder F. John Cushing Sr. purchased the company (formerly known as National Blueprint Co.) and began to rebrand and rebuild as a blueprint shop serving Chicago’s architecture and engineering firms. Through the years, Cushing dabbled in coating diazo paper, placed the first manned, on-site printing center in Chicago, and became the first reprographics company in the city to add color copying to their list of services.

In recent years, Cushing has evolved to include various color graphics solutions for their growing client base. Cushing is a national and City of Chicago certified Women’s Business Enterprise, led by President Cathleen Cushing Duff. The company is a founder and active member of ReproMAX, a network of digital print service providers nationwide and overseas.

As Cushing enters its ninetieth year of business, the company continues to grow and adapt as the market changes and strives to create a culture that inspires leadership.
