Standout Features:
- Context-aware dark and light themes
- Image-driven discovery of audio collections
- Minimalist player interface
Soundbeing, as envisioned in Kendric Smith's app design, guides users towards finding the right kind of relaxing audio experiences for their needs. The proposed design strongly prioritizes this core function mainly through very visual discovery methods and then provides a super minimalist playback screen once a choice is made.
One really smart touch is how the app uses two different themes depending on what you're doing. There's a dark theme (deep charcoal) for browsing and finding content, which can help with focusing. But when you actually start listening, it switches to a softer, muted olive-green light theme, creating a more relaxing atmosphere for the sound therapy itself.
Additionally, finding content in the app feels really visual and intuitive. Featured audio collections use a grid layout with large, atmospheric images representing goals or moods like "Relax" or "Sleep." This helps users connect emotionally with experiences, rather than just scanning plain text lists, making for a much more personal feeling app overall.
The actual audio player screen is kept intentionally simple, designed to focus you purely on the listening experience itself. A large, evocative image related to the specific track anchors the view, with title and description nearby. Simple, standard player controls sit discretely down at the bottom of this interface.
This app concept serves as a great reminder of how deeply tailoring the entire user experience and consciously designing every interaction specifically to support user goals can enhance the value of an Android and IOS app design.
