  • Conceptual logomark merging a fork and corkscrew
  • Bespoke architectural typography with Art Deco qualities
  • Evocative and culturally potent crimson red color palette

The brand identity for Sydney's Enoteca 128, by MM Design, translates the feeling of 1980s Italian warmth into a modern context. This new restaurant and wine bar’s design is a confident system that uses conceptual cleverness and a distinct retro-modern style to convey quality and a passion for hospitality.

A conceptual circular logomark serves as the visual centerpiece. It combines the shape of a three-pronged fork and a corkscrew spiral, joined by a shared handle into a unified form. This elegant mark communicates the restaurant's core offerings of food and wine with memorable clarity.

The "ENOTECA 128" wordmark is crafted from a custom typeface with a unique personality. Investing in such a distinctive typeface is a powerful branding tool, as research confirms that unique typography is a vital component in building brand recognition and fostering loyalty (Günay, 2024).

Its condensed, stylized sans-serif letterforms feature sharp, incised terminals and a distinct horizontal line cutting through the characters' midline. This gives them an architectural, almost Art Deco quality.

The visual identity is defined by a powerful deep, saturated crimson red. Used as a background for the wordmark and for physical signage, this color is a key brand element. Paired with high-contrast black and white, the crimson evokes a sense of Italian warmth and the richness of red wine.

This luxury logo uses a conceptual logomark, bespoke typography, and an evocative color palette to narrate a story of sophisticated nostalgia. This project demonstrates how you can convey your core offerings through an intelligent, unified design system that feels both modern and still deeply rooted in cultural heritage.
