Gronstedts and P. Lex Signature edition cognac package design is a collaboration between Gronstedts and hip-hop musician/sommelier Petter Alexis. The packaging illustration comes from Petter's back tattoo, which was created by iconic Swedish 90’s graffiti artist Puppet.
The black and white graffiti illustration that adorns the packaging is full of life and bold in nature. The original inspiration for this came from steet posters, music tickets, and the hip-hop tradition of battling, which has allowed Gronstedts / P. Lex cognac create one uniform expression. The many layers tell the story of the product's complexity.
This packaging has plenty of contrast, beginning with the green label and orange type on top of the black and white package. In addition, each step in unboxing the cognac results in a beautiful contrast of elements.
From the script typeface to the sans serif fonts, the elements are consistently balanced, almost resembling a yin and yang that keeps the consumer on their toes. The warm orange-y color of the cognac also stands out against the black and white label.
