Standout Features:

  • Rustic-themed cover
  • High-quality food photography
  • Consistent layout and grid

Isabel Kelly, a talented web and print designer, undertook a heartfelt project to redesign her grandmother Bonnie's cherished Chez Henri Cookbook.

Bonnie had collected recipes from friends and family for over 50 years, resulting in a compilation of photocopies, handwritten notes, and clippings. Isabel's goal was to transform this treasured collection into a cohesive and visually appealing cookbook accessible to all generations within their family.

The cover immediately sets the tone, featuring a rustic wooden board with a delectable and colorful spread. It signals a shared culinary experience, inviting readers to gather around the table and create memories with loved ones. The image's warm color palette further reinforces this sense of togetherness.

And here's the best part: outstanding food photography takes center stage in the design. The high-quality images show the food beautifully and give a realistic look at the dishes' appearance and taste.

Inside, each recipe page follows a consistent layout with clear sections for ingredients, instructions, and chef's notes. An eight-column grid creates a visually organized and balanced structure, making it easy for users to follow along while cooking. This creates a sense of order and professionalism, elevating the cookbook from a personal collection to a polished publication!
