Black Flag carried us from concept to production on a very complex website with multiple interest holders. Designing a website for the California Department of Education means that we serve a varied user base and must adhere to the highest accessibility standards. Black Flag took input from internal teams, educators, and other interested parties that would be accessing and using the site. They adapted their designs to meet the needs of various types of users, coming up with not only attractive design elements, but created code that added automation to eliminate some of the manual updates. Black Flag provided us with a high-quality product and were so much fun to work with along the way. A helpful tip: save some of your funding for ongoing maintenance because once you start working with them, you won’t want to stop!

The team a Black Flag Creative interviewed our group at key milestones throughout the web design process to thoroughly understand our industry and the goals we want to achieve with our new website. I've been through a number of website updates with just as many web designers and Black Flag communicated with us in terms the layperson can understand, making it easy for us to provide content (both media and text) that would allow them to develop a website with the look and feel we wanted. They are just the right balance of website knowhow and flexibility in their thinking.

Most of the glowing reviews here don’t seem to be from real clients. My experience was the opposite.This company is grossly incompetent. They charged high fees but delivered sub-par work, riddled with delays and headaches that continued even after the contract ended.They were hired to design a web app, but the end product was so poor that I had to bring in engineers to fix the mess they left behind. There were issues at every stage of the project, from design to deployment.What stings the most is that I was the one who recommended them to my team because a friend knew the owner. I deeply regret that recommendation.The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is that the team, Lanre especially, were at least cooperative — but cooperation is pointless (and frankly annoying) when the work is fundamentally flawed.My advice: stick to using them only for basic website creation, and hire a skilled freelancer for more advanced projects.My advice to Chisom: It’s unfortunate that our experience turned out so poorly, because your company is a great concept with a lot of potential. Protect the brand you’ve worked so hard to build — the sweat and tears show — by investing in skilled engineers and raising delivery standards. Otherwise, you risk frustrated clients, avoidable disputes, and damage to the reputation you’ve worked to establish.
