Food Delivery App Design Shows How Visuals Influence Users‘ Ordering Habits
Raise a hand if you haven’t ordered takeout food regularly in the past couple of years. If so, kudos to you, as you either have time and patience on said hand, you share Gordon Ramsey’s culinary skills, or you’re simply diligent. For the rest of us, food delivery became an essential part of everyday life.
That, however, doesn’t necessarily have to be a dour experience nor a sheer necessity, as some food delivery apps out there have become nothing short of an art form, especially for artistic mobile app developers who strive for aesthetically functional platforms.
Solveit’s latest creation is definitely one of them. Besides the user interface that perfectly matches the needs of the target user, the Food Delivery app design is extremely visual. So much so in fact, that the only problem you’ll have on the plate is which mouthwatering meal to put on it.
The iconography, high-res images of dishes and the overall graphic support are carefully selected to flood your synapses with healthy doses of serotonin and dopamine before you hit the Order button.

The App Design Inserts a Much-Needed Social Aspect into Food Delivery Experience
Food Delivery is an app designed to help users find restaurants and takeaways they’ll love wherever they are. Solveit made a streamlined, easy-to-use interface, worked through all the details and restructured the objects to improve usability and increase engagement.
While impressive this has pretty much become an industry standard. What makes this app stand out are the social media features: users can share their experiences (and ratings) about the food and places they ordered from.
Of course, If you want, you can end your app journey right after ordering your preferred meal, right there and then, but you will miss on the number of features and a growing network of food enthusiasts whose collective insights could open new opportunities for your teeth to dig in.
You can connect with people directly, follow them and see their stories (similar to Facebook and Instagram), etc. Alas, what is the food good for, if not for connecting people, especially after years of social distancing.

Food Delivery App’s Color Palette and Unique Typography Contributes to Precision, Convenience and Ease of Use
One of the most visually impactful aspects of the user journey is the correct use of colors. While many apps dabbling in the food and beverage industry opt for the usual red-yellow combo, the Food Delivery app is “painted” with azure blue and light red.
These colors form a good contrast with the white backgrounds and black text to facilitate smooth navigation, I.e., locating the important navigation element.
The specific palette choice for the Food Delivery app design is another well-thought-out element as the blues instill trust and reliability while the reds fire up users’ hunger. They balance each other out while looking great together. Color meanings like these are often used by developing a brand identity when developing a brand identity.
The app uses a custom version of the Rubik typeface. The sans serif font retains the legibility of your typical Roman-style typography, but its slightly rounded corners fit the overall design perfectly.
Simple Navigation, Clean Design and Subtle Animation Make User Journey a Breeze
Since the Food Delivery app design relies on the so-called “show, don’t tell” approach, what more can we say? Upon launching the app and landing on the main page, the users can easily find everything they need by tapping on the search bar.
Whether you want to search restaurants by their ratings, or choose a specific dish, use promotions and special offers or enter the “fooders hub”, everything is neatly packed as if the charger is right in front of you.
Now, choose your meal!
